Cone Crusher Mantle – Precision-Engineered Wear Parts

Cone crusher mantle produced by Newreg Machine

The cone crusher mantle is the moving wear liner that sits on the head of a cone crusher, working together with the bowl liner to compress and reduce rock inside the crushing chamber. Because the mantle is in constant contact with abrasive material, its alloy composition, wall thickness and casting quality directly determine crushing efficiency, product shape and how long the machine can run between changeouts.

Newreg Machine designs and casts cone crusher mantles for aggregate, mining and recycling operations. As a dedicated crusher parts supplier and manufacturer, we produce each cone crusher mantle from verified engineering drawings, matching original chamber geometry, thread dimensions and manganese or chrome-alloy specifications so that replacement parts fit and perform exactly as expected.

Every cone crusher mantle we ship is backed by our own foundry, in-house pattern shop and CNC finishing lines, giving customers a single source for both standard replacement mantles and fully custom cone crusher parts.

Maintenance

Cone Crusher Mantle Maintenance and Service Guide

A short daily and weekly routine can meaningfully extend the working life of any cone crusher mantle.

Installation and Backing

Confirm the seat is clean and the backing compound (epoxy or zinc) is fully cured before the crusher is started, so the mantle sits evenly on the head.

Wear Pattern Checks

Inspect the crushing surface at regular intervals for uneven wear, which often points to feed distribution or setting problems rather than the mantle itself.

Locking Nut Torque

Recheck the mantle locking nut after the first hours of operation and periodically afterward, since vibration can gradually loosen the fit.

Cleaning and Storage

Clean the crushing chamber during liner changes and store spare cone crusher parts in a dry area to prevent surface corrosion before installation.

Engineer’s Note

From Our Engineering Team

In our experience, most premature cone crusher mantle failures are not caused by the casting itself, but by how the crusher is run. Feeding oversized rock, running the chamber below the recommended level, or letting the setting drift too far past the recommended limit all concentrate stress on one area of the mantle instead of spreading wear evenly.

We recommend keeping the crushing chamber choke-fed where the application allows, watching the eccentric throw and CSS setting against the manufacturer’s chart, and pulling a mantle for inspection as soon as you see one-sided wear rather than waiting for it to break through. A cone crusher mantle that wears evenly will almost always outlast one that is left to run past its limit.

Technology

Advanced Wear Technology in Our Cone Crusher Mantles

Beyond standard manganese and chrome-alloy castings, we apply the following process options to selected cone crusher mantle orders.

Wear Life

Tungsten Carbide Insert Casting

Tungsten carbide studs are cast directly into the highest-wear zones of the mantle, slowing metal loss in the areas that fail first.

Alloy

Optimized Chrome-Moly Composition

Alloy ratios are adjusted for impact toughness or abrasion resistance depending on whether the application is aggregate or hard-rock mining.

Surface

Localized Surface Hardening

Selective heat treatment raises surface hardness on the crushing face while keeping the core of the mantle tough enough to resist cracking.

Manufacturing Strength

Why Choose Newreg Machine as Your Cone Crusher Parts Manufacturer

Every cone crusher mantle we quote is backed by our own drawing office, machining fleet and foundry, not an outsourced casting shop.

Precision Engineering Drawings

Dimensions are verified against original samples or customer drawings before tooling begins, reducing fitment issues on delivery.

Multi-Axis CNC Machining

A mixed fleet of large and small, high and standard precision CNC machines lets us finish both oversized mining parts and small fittings in-house.

Our Own Foundry

Melting, molding and heat treatment are carried out on our own casting floor, giving us direct control over alloy quality and lead time.

Full-Process Inspection

Chemical composition, hardness and dimensional checks are carried out at each stage, from raw material to finished cone crusher parts.

Customization

Custom Cone Crusher Mantle Options With Short Lead Times

Standard replacement is only the starting point. We also support smaller, order-specific adjustments.

Tailored Specifications

Cavity profile, alloy grade and even minor dimensional tweaks can be adjusted to suit your feed material and wear history.

Shortened Production Cycle

Because pattern making, casting and machining all happen on site, most cone crusher mantle orders move faster than multi-vendor supply chains.

FAQ

Common Questions About Cone Crusher Mantles

How often does a cone crusher mantle need to be replaced?

It depends on the material being crushed and the operating setting, but most operations inspect the mantle at every scheduled liner change and replace it once wear approaches the manufacturer’s minimum thickness.

Can Newreg Machine manufacture a cone crusher mantle from a drawing or sample only?

Yes. We can quote from an original part drawing, a physical sample, or the crusher model and part number, and our team will confirm critical dimensions before production.

What materials are used for cone crusher mantles?

Most mantles are cast in high manganese steel, with chrome-alloy or tungsten carbide reinforced options available for higher abrasion or impact applications.
